We tried this beer at a local sushi restaurant in Kailua. It was listed as a premium Japanese beer, and priced accordingly ($9 a bottle).
Well, this must be made by the Japanese branch of Schlitz brewing, ’cause that’s pretty much what it tastes like.
For those that have tried — or suffered — through a can of Schlitz, you might recall the excessive carbonation, lack of taste and body at the beginning, and the bitter aftertaste at the end. This Japanese beer has the same characteristics.
We got through about a 6 ounce glass of this piss water, and then asked for something else.
We rate this beer a solid “Pour It Down the Sink.”
