This hotel is located on the Kratie riverfront strip.

We stayed in two rooms over the course of two nights. On the first night, we stayed in one of their larger rooms. On the second night, we moved to a smaller room, due to someone else having a prior reservation for the larger room.

Both rooms had air conditioning, a small refrigerator, and a water closet style bathroom with Western toilet and inline water heater.

Beyond size and price, the differences between large and small rooms were a tiny balcony (too small to be of any use), a larger bed, and a worn-out couch and matching chair in the large room.

Both rooms were clean, despite showing signs of wear and a need for some maintenance.

Both rooms were also noisy. Sounds carried in from the street, the hallways, and the adjacent rooms.

The wireless router for the Internet worked, but the actual Internet access was pretty unreliable. We could get to sites like the basic google search page, but other sites with more robust content were a challenge at best.

The large room was pricey at US $30. The small room ran us US $15.

We looked at their less expensive fan rooms in a building toward the back of the grounds, but these rooms looked even more poorly maintained and offered no size advantage.

Santepheap is not what we’d call a good hotel, but at least it is clean and habitable – if you can tolerate the noise.
