We finally made it to Maui, on a Hawaiian Airlines flight that was on time (now, there’s a novelty).

Picked up our rental car at Thrifty. Nice folks, although we could have done without the timeshare pitch (endure this sales thing and get $100 off the car rental).

Drove to the Kaanapali coast, just north of Lahaina. Checked in at the Honua Kai Resort and Spa. New place. Nice rooms that are more like one bedroom apartments, complete with full kitchen.

At first, was given a room
Next to the elevator shaft. Not sure why I always get these, but I hate them. Asked for a new room, and they accomodated. Desk person even came to us and escorted us to the new room. Nice touch.

Had dinner at Duke’s at the resort. Decent vegetable stir fry, but expensive ($80 with tip for two vegetable stir fries, a shared salad, a mai tai, and two beers).

Back to the room to get some sleep.
