We walked the full length of Front Street in Lahaina — both sides. Checked the menus of every restaurant. Vegetarian and vegan options are not so much. Veggie burgers here and there. Oh, and there are salads. But an actual meal of some thought? Not really.

Eventually, we ran across the Mai Tai Lounge. The menu included a portobello mushroom sandwich – decidely vegan friendly – so we gave it a shot.

Now, I ordered an ahi sandwich, as I am still partial to fish.

Well, this is very much not a recommended establishment. The sandwiches were substandard (cheap white bread buns, a miniscule slice of ahi, a poorly cooked portobello mushroom), and it was over-priced ($36 excluding tip for these two sandwiches and two glasses of water).

Avoid the Mai Tai Lounge.
