Cafe Mambo is located in the town of Paia, just east of Kahului. We went to Paia looking for a vegan restaurant that apparently no longer exists, and ended up at Cafe Mambo instead.
It was a good find.
The cafe has sort of a hippie feel, like many of the vegan and vegetarian restaurants and cafes in Portland, Oregon.
We had falafel, and a spinach and mushroom fajitas dish. Both were very good. In fact, the meal here was better than the four course vegan meal that the Four Season’s restaurant specially made for us — and it cost just $36 versus $200.
Cafe Mambo was the best vegan friendly restaurant we found on Maui.
