Honua Kai Resort is located on the Kaanapali Coast, which is just north of Lahaina. Kaanapali is one of two resort strips on Maui, the other being the Wailea area.
Honua Kai Resort is fairly new. One structure is two years old; the other is just one.
The price is very good for this area and this quality of hotel – mid-$200 range to start.
The rooms are really small apartments, with bedrooms and full kitchens. Nicely done places.
The staff was very nice and helpful. They were very accomodating when I asked to be relocated away from the elevator shaft.
The full kitchen is a great deal. It can offset the costs of a day in Kaanapali by over $100 for those willing to cook, making the accomodations very affordable for this part of Maui.
We’d stay here again in a heart beat. Highly recommended.
