Over all experience:

Dan and I decided to search for some good Thai food on Oahu! We used to haunt this little dive in Pacifica CA, cleverly named Pacifica Thai. Pacifica Thai is a dive and all I can say about the service is well, it’s interesting. The guy who usually served us was kinda mean and never looked us in the eye but he became part of the colorful experience of dining their. The food was good and the drinks were fantastic!

Since we hadn’t had anything remotely Thai for months and it was our anniversary we decided to look for a “nice” Thai food place here on Oahu. After extensively researching the web all signs pointed to Phuket Thai with the highest star ratings and customer satisfaction. Dan and I haven’t eaten out much since I moved here to Oahu because well, the island isn’t veg/vegan friendly. Phuket Thai at least had a vegetarian menu and understood what vegan meant, which I appreciated! So off we went to Phuket Thai!

The Spring Rolls – Greasy and flavorless
The Green Papaya Salad – Strangely chewy not like anything I had tasted before.

Peanut Sauce Tofu Curry – This was pretty good but not great

Dan and I had discussed Thai food as being the sort of thing that you can’t really do gourmet style. Sure you can serve it in small portions on a large plate in a well decorated restaurant but it’s still just Thai food.
