Portland OR 97214

Foodies: Jocelyn and Jen

Ordered: The Wilson Brothers Sandwich-Thinly sliced roast beef style seitan and grilled onions on house baked bread with au jus and vegan mozzarella.

The Katie John Rainboots Sandwich-Chickpea tuna with vegan mozzarella and tomato.

Black bottom cupcake

Charlie Brown brownie

The Elvis – 6? Banana Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting. Ordered for a birthday celebration later in the week.

Over all experience: The Sweetpea Baking Company is located in the only all vegan mall in the country. Its a small mall but a mall none the less! The other shops in the mall are Herbivore, a vegan propaganda clothing store. Which, I have spent a lot of time and money in. The owners of Herbivore are very active in the vegan community and as sweet as can be. Food Fight, an all vegan grocery store. And Scapegoat Tatoo, obviously a tatoo studio.

Ok back to the food!!

I ordered The Wilson Bros and Jocelyn ordered The Katie Rainboots. When we got our sammies they were cut in half so we traded halves.

The Wilson Brothers was good but something I would not order again. Basically it was Tofurky with vegan mozzarella and a dipping sauce. The bread was amazingly good but that and the cheese were the only redeeming qualities. I preferred the Katie Rainboots it was perfect! They serve TKR on grilled bread and the vegan tuna salad was perfect. Did i say perfect? Because i meant perfect! Jocelyn on the other hand liked The Wilson Brothes sammie and didn’t much care for the Katie Rainboots.

I went back a few days later to pick up lunch for a few people and ordered The Katie Rainboots , Jocelyn ordered The Wilson bros.

Every time I come to PDX I come here, to Sweetpea for coffee and something sweet. Their baked goods are very scrumptious, sometimes… I have ordered the Black Bottom cupcake many times and half of those where dry, the other half were heavenly.

The Charlie Brown was delicious!! I have never had a bad Charlie Brown from Sweetpea!

We ordered a 6? Birthday Cake to celebrate Jocelyn’s mother-in-laws 70th birthday and OMG!! It was soooooooooooooo good! We ordered The Elvis, Banana Cake with peanut butter frosting!! Ahhhh! I wish I had some right now! Holy!!
