You will not see any individual restaurant reviews for Luang Prabang. That’s because, of the handful of restaurants we visited, not one was remarkable enough to warrant a review. They were all pretty much the same as to price and selection and quality.

Food in Luang Prabang runs about $2.50 to $3.00 US per dish. That’s two to three times as much as Thailand for a comparable dish.  The only thing that’s cheaper is the beer, which is about two to three times more expensive in Thailand (although Thai beer is significantly better).

The quality of the food has been uniformly blah in comparison to Thailand, as well.

I think you can safely walk into any joint in this town and get about the same thing for about the same price.

So far, Thailand kicks ass on Laos in the food category.
