Stella Blues Cafe is located in Kihei, on the southwest coast of Maui. We were looking for lunch, and it popped on a web search as having vegetarian options, so we gave it a try.
I figure the name Stella Blues comes from a Grateful Dead song of that title. There is Grateful Dead memorabilia on the walls of the place, so it makes sense.
There are some vegetarian options, but not extensive. There were no specifically vegan options we noted.
We got that staple of joints claiming to be vegetarian friendly – the veggie burger – and a portabello mushroom-based sandwhich that had to be stripped of cheese and mayo to become vegan fare.
Overall, this place is OK. Not bad; not good. Average. Three out of five stars.
